Create.
Empower.
Succeed.

Siouxland Mental Health Center purchased the old Pier One Building at 4265 Sergeant Road in Sioux City, Iowa, to become our Child and Adolescent Center. This building is just under 9,000 sq feet and is located on the city’s bus route. This amount of space will allow us to increase our psychiatric services and our therapy services. A few expansion services will be Virtual Reality Therapy, PCIT/Sensory Therapy, Play Therapy, and Art/Music Therapy. We will also offer Sports Therapy at this location, a new service we plan to offer to children.

1 in 6 youth between the ages of 6 and 17 experience a mental health disorder, and suicide is the second leading cause of death among our youth. Many children and parents do not feel they have anywhere to go or know where to go for help. Access to care needs to match our youth’s mental health influx and adapt to our client’s needs.

Our new Child and Adolescent Center will be a place where children can feel they are the focus and the are not alone.  By creating this space for them, we aim to empower children to take charge of their mental health and succeed beyond what they think they are capable of—letting children know that they are so much more than their mental illness.
